Mike Lange is a piano player, singer-songwriter who has played thousands of gigs in the mid-Atlantic and a handful overseas during the past thirty years. Over the years he has performed with many of the top bands in the Baltimore/Washington area both as a bandleader, member, and as a freelance musician. His original music has been featured on numerous radio stations in the mid-Atlantic area including WRNR, WPFW, WTMD, and WHFS as well as many independent radio stations overseas. He is perhaps best known for the group Mike Lange & Boogie Express.

Founded in 1993 and active through 2016, Mike Lange & Boogie Express specialized in high-energy, up-tempo, jump blues, boogie woogie, and swing. The band also had a vast repertoire of low down blues and roots rock as well as New Orleans and Caribbean selections. Typically the Boogie Express performed as a five-piece ensemble with Mike on piano/lead vocals along with guitar, tenor sax, bass, and drums.

Mike started out in Baltimore specializing in blues piano and later branched out into boogie woogie, swing, roots rock, and more recently Caribbean music.

Shortly after moving to Annapolis,MD, Mike joined The Eastport Oyster Boys in 2004 as a songwriter, pianist, and vocalist.

The Eastport Oyster boys is a highly successful ensemble that performs almost exclusively original material celebrating life on the Chesapeake Bay. Occasionlly Mike also performs with the Tiki Barbarians, an Annapolis-based band which Mike co-founded in 2005. The Tiki's play an eclectic mix of material which includes blues, Caribbean music, boogie woogie, roots-rock, swing, and traditional jazz among other genres. The Tiki Barbarians are known for creating a fun party atmosphere. Mike plays piano and sings many of the tunes at Tiki Barbarian performances.

Mike also plays occasionaly in smaller group settings including with his wife Kelly who sings and plays ukulele.

Mike's live performances and recordings have won the respect of many audiences over the years. His music continues to be downloaded around the globe.
